MAHON TO ALICANTE, SPAIN

After a great stay in Barcelona, we sailed across to Mahon, Minorca. A nice quiet town, two great runs of 11km and 8km out and back from the port-beautiful countryside, nice weather. Then on to Alicante, where I had a nice 11km along the beach promenade (Playa del Postiguet) which was really great-no traffic problems, nice scenery. The next day I had an early morning jog 10km in the other direction which was not so great- a bit of an urban crush-running in traffic. Next stop, Marbella.

SPLIT, CROATIA TO BARCELONA, SPAIN

Arrived Split, Croatia 1 June then sailed for Korcula where I had a nice, easy 5km in the rain from the port out and back. Very beautiful scenery, wonderful country. Sailing around the boot of Italy to Siracusa, Sicily had 2 nice runs around the old town-it's about 4km around so it's great for doing loops-minimal traffic, also nice gelato when you're done. Then through the Straits of Messina to the island of Lipari-a nice hilly run out of the port 6km-beautiful weather. Then across to Stromboli, the volcanic island puffing away where I had a great hilly run/hike up to about 300m elevation across and back down to the port 6km. Then on to Civitavecchia, Italy where the jogging is not great and on to Portofino(photo) where the coastline is beautiful-10km out and back along the coast road. Leaving Italy, we moved on to Nice, France where the run from the port in the direction Villefranche is great along the coast-10km out and back. A nice 5km in Antibes along the coast and then on to Rosas, Spain also 5km out and back along the promenade. And today, a nice 7km out and back in Barcelona from the cruise ship terminal and along the promenade-Barcelona is great for jogging.
