Great time here in Hamburg, Germany. What a great city! Good jogging. 3 runs from the pier at Grasbrookhafen to the Alster and round the lakes-12kms all the way round and back to the pier. Great facilities for joggers and cyclists-lot of joggers.

KIEL, GERMANY

2 days here in Kiel, Germany. Great jogging along the waterfront promenade from the Ostseekai in the direction of the Nord-Ostsee-Kanal. 10km and 8km out and back. Very nice town. Great facilities for joggers and cyclists.

GDYNIA, POLAND

One day here in Gdynia, Poland. Great 12 km from the port to town and along the waterfront which then becomes a forest run. Very nice run, great weather, nice town.

RIGA, LATVIA

2 days here in Riga, Latvia. Nice city, although jogging not great-limited facilities for joggers here-few designated cycle/jogging paths.

HELSINKI, FINLAND AND TALLIN, ESTONIA

Great time in Helsinki, Finland. 2 great runs around town, Great facilities for joggers here-designated cycle/jogging paths-great city. Then on to Tallin, Estonia (photo). 2 great runs from the port along the beachfront promenade-great cycle/jogging paths here also. Great weather.

MARIEHAMN, FINLAND

1 day in Mariehamn, on Aland, an island off the coast of Finland. Nice short 6km out and back around the town, great weather, nice place.

STOCKHOLM, SWEDEN

3 days in Stockholm, Sweden. Nice city, good facilities for jogging/cycling with plenty of designated paths. 3 great runs of 9, 11, and 13kms out and back from the cruise port near Gamla Stan out to Ladugardsgardet, where there are plenty of quiet roads and green fields-great for jogging.

VISBY,SWEDEN

2 days in Visby, off the Swedish coast. A nice 10km out and back south from the port along great cycle paths through great countryside. Nice weather.

COPENHAGEN, DENMARK

3 days here in Copenhagen. 2 nice runs out to the Tuborg Marina, 10kms out and back. A bit urban, but pleasant enough-nice town.

GOTHENBURG, SWEDEN

2 days here in Gothenburg, Sweden. 2 great runs along the waterfront from the cruise port-14kms out and back and 9kms. Nice town.

FREDRIKSTAD, NORWAY

2 days here in Fredrikstad. A nice country run-10kms out and back from the port-beautiful green scenery.

OSLO, NORWAY

3 days here in Oslo, Norway. Great city, three great runs, two along the waterfront, and one to the Bislett Stadium and some circuits of the famous track!

ALESUND, NORWAY

2 days in Alesund, Norway. Great run from the port to the AtlanterhavsParken, which features great trails through wonderful Norwegian countryside. 10 kms out and back-a little chilly.

WICK, U.K.

2 days in Wick, Scotland. Very pleasant. Nice run in the rain in the direction of John O'Groats from the port-8kms out and back.

EDINBURGH, U.K.

3 days here in Leith, Edinburgh. 1 nice 12kms out and back from the cruise ship pier along the waterfront. Nice scenery, wonderful place.

NEWCASTLE,U.K.

2 days here in Newcastle-only 1 wet run from the pier at Port of Tyne, 6kms out and back-a little chilly.

LONDON, U.K.

4 days here in London. Time only for 1 run from the pier at Greenwich towards London along the Thames Route/Path past Canary Wharf-12kms. A little frustrating as the riverside path appears and disappears-is not continuous. Busy when you are in London traffic!

FALMOUTH, U.K.

3 days here in Falmouth. 3 nice runs-2 circuit routes around town-10kms and 11kms and then an 8km run around Pendennis Castle and the beachfront at Castle and Tunnel beaches. Nice town.

BORDEAUX, FRANCE

3 days here in Bordeaux. 2 runs along the river direction north away from the Cruise ship pier-6kms and 10kms out and back. Then a 16km run over to the opposite side of the river (right bank), where there is a great cycle path in a southerly direction. Warm weather for this time of year.

GIJON, SPAIN

3 days here in Gijon, Spain-great jogging route from the port through the tunnel at Abono past an area of heavy industry which contrasts with the rolling green fields-interesting scenery, to say the least. 14km and 9km out and back.

OPORTO, PORTUGAL

2 days here in Oporto-2 great runs along the beach promenade north from the port at Leixoes. 10km and 11km out and back, great scenery and weather.

LISBON, PORTUGAL

Three days in Lisbon. Great city, three great runs, all from the port at Santa Apolonia along the waterfront direction Beato- 5kms, 10kms, 9kms. Able to stay off the sidewalk mosaic stones on this route, so more comfortable underfoot.

PONTA DELGADA, AZORES

Two days here in Ponta Delgada, Azores. Nice run from the port in direction airport on what becomes a great coastal road-2 Rua de Santa Clara-nice and quiet and scenic-9kms out and back.

HORTA, AZORES

Three days here in Horta, Azores, after a bit of a bumpy ride from New York. Great 10km out and back direction airport from the port. Next day a wet 5km same route. Nice island.

NEW YORK CITY

Three days in New York. Great runs from Pier 88 along the Hudson River on the cycle path south down to Battery Park-6kms out and back. 11kms out and back north along the cycle path-great weather on Saturday-great facility for joggers and cyclists.

CHARLESTON, SOUTH CAROLINA, USA

Three days here in Charleston. Great town, great history, great jogging. Designated jogging/cycling path over the Cooper River on the Arthur Ravenel Bridge. Two runs 10km and 12 km out and back from the Cruise terminal over the bridge and back.

FORT LAUDERDALE, USA AND NASSAU, BAHAMAS

Three days in Fort Lauderdale. 2 great runs from Port Everglades along Fort Lauderdale beach 10kms out and back. Humid conditions. Then on to Nassau, Bahamas and a early morning 8km from the port. Great scenery.

KEY WEST, FLORIDA, USA

Two days in Key West. Great weather-two great runs; 10kms out and back from Mallory Dock along Whitehead St. to Higgs beach and then along South Roosevelt to Smathers Beach. The next day around the island along North Roosevelt and then South Roosevelt back to the port-15kms. Very toasty.

GRAND TURK, TURKS AND CAICOS

Two great runs, 10km and 12km, out and back from the Cruise ship terminal on this great island. Nice and toasty, great scenery.

SAN JUAN, PUERTO RICO

Arriving in San Juan on 8th April, went for a short 7km through town from the harbour to the north coast road. Traffic issues, but apart from that, great scenery, nice town.

ST CROIX, U.S. VIRGIN ISLANDS

On 7th April had a great 10km out and back from the harbour at Fredericksted north along the coast road. Beautiful scenery, hot and humid, wonderful island.

ST.BARTHELEMY

Arrived in St.Barts from vacation in Cape Town on April 1st. Had a great out and back 12km along a beautiful hilly coastal road from the port in Gustavia past the airport in the direction

of Lorient. Great place, nice and hot.

VALPARAISO, CHILE

After a stay in Bahia de Concepcion, Chile, where I had a great run out and back 10km from the port at Lirquen on a great road through the forest, we arrived in Valparaiso, Chile. Great jog along the sea front from the ocean terminal to Playa Caleta Abarca-10kms. Very nice facility, great scenery, nice town.

PUERTO MONTT, CHILE

Leaving Ushuaia, where I had 2 great runs to the airport of 10kms out and back, we spent 5 days in the Chilean Fjords. Then on to Chacabuco, Chile, where I had a great 10 km out towards Puerto Aisen. Great scenery, although wet and cold. Then 3 days in Puerto Montt, Chile and 3 great runs from the port along the bay of 12kms, 8kms and 14kms. Great scenery-nice town, (photo).

ANTARCTICA

3 weeks down in South Georgia and Antarctica. No jogging, except on treadmill. Live outdoor concert with the Fabulous Fossils near Port Lockroy, Antarctica. Great fun, now back to Ushuaia and then on to Chile.
