Leaving France, we headed up to Guernsey, where I had a nice 11km along the promenade in St. Peter Port-a little chilly up here. Then on to Southhampton, and a nice 8km from the port through town-a bit of an urban run. Then Dartmouth, which was really great-nice runs towards the Castle and then along the coastal and bridle paths. Also a nice circuit out of town and then back in a loop-about 7km. The runs here are all hilly, but the scenery is really beautiful (photo).

ST. MALO, FRANCE
LA ROCHELLE TO BELLE-ILE, FRANCE
Leaving Bordeaux, we sailed north to La Rochelle, where I had a great early morning 12km from the port at La Pallice across the bridge to Ile de Re. Great run, nice path out of the traffic, great weather. Next stop was Le Palais, Belle-Ile, where there is a great run along the Sentier Cotier. It's a dirt trail along the cliffs, a little challenging at times, but great scenery (photo). 10 kms out and back but I think you can go round the entire island!

MARBELLA, SPAIN TO BORDEAUX, FRANCE
Leaving Alicante, Spain, we sailed down to Puerto Banus, near Marbella, Spain. There I had 2 great 10km runs along the promenade from the port in the direction of Marbella. Really a great promenade, wonderful for an early morning run, great weather. Then on to Cadiz, Spain and another 2 great 10km runs from the port around the old town on the waterfront promenade. Great scenery, great weather, nice town. No running in Portugal due to a bug, but then in Bordeaux, France, 3 nice 12km runs mostly along the riverfront (photo), which is great for running with a nice promenade. Once you leave the riverfront, you are in traffic, but there are cycle paths to be found in places. Wonderful town.
