AITUTAKI, COOK ISLANDS

Small island with a great paved/unpaved road that takes one pretty much around the whole thing. From the little port on the eastern side, I headed south through sparsely populated country side-very nice scenery. The road turned north up the windward side of the island-I then cut back across to the port making a 13km loop. I would estimate the entire circumference of the island at about 22km. Hot and extremely humid.

LAUTOKA, FIJI AND VAVA'U, TONGA

Arrived Lautoka, Fiji after marathon flights from Cape Town. Went for a nice toasty run 8km north from the port through the little town of Lautoka and out into a rural area of cane fields. Very humid, great place, great people. Then on to Vava'u, Tonga (photo) and a wonderful run from the town there around the bay-a nice undulating 8km. A very cool place. The heat broken on the way back by sudden downpour of typically tropical dimensions.

CAPE TOWN

Another race here in Cape Town-the Simonsvlei Trail Run 15km. Small but enthusiastic field tackled a nice undulating course. Great fun. Next stop, Fiji. Back to work.

CAPE TOWN

Some nice races here in Cape Town over the last few weeks-the Lighthouse Run 10km in Mouille Point, the Newlands Brewery Dash 5km, the Tyger Run 10km in Tygervalley, and the Vineyard 15km in Lourensford, Somerset West. All very well organised, lots of fun, great scenery and weather.
