PUNTA DEL ESTE, MONTEVIDEO, BUENOS AIRES
Great run in the resort town of Punta del Este, Uruguay-out and back from the port. Then on to Montevideo and a nice 10km out and back along the sea front promenade. We spent 4 days in Buenos Aires where it's great to jog over to the Puerto Madero-about 10km out and back from the port. Hot and humid this time of year. Great city (photo). Now on our way to Ushuaia and Antarctica.

BRAZIL-BUZIOS, RIO DE JANEIRO, PARATY.
Arriving in Buzios, a resort town near Rio, I had 2 short runs around the peninsula, one quite hilly-great scenery. Then on to Rio, and 3runs-one a 5km from the port direction airport-not so pretty, and then two runs from the port through town and along the Flamenco beach. There are great jogging tracks that go all the way down to Ipanema. Very humid this time of year. Then on to Paraty, another resort town near Rio and a jog through the cobbled streets of town out direction Rio and back-10km. Very humid.

Then on to Montreal. Great loop from the port across the Jacque Cartier bridge and back through the city. Then the next day across to the Gilles Villeneuve Circuit (formula 1) and around the circuit. Then on to Greenland-not a lot of running possibilities on our trip-more hiking, but great scenery (photo).

COBH, IRELAND TO ISLE OF MAN, U.K.
Leaving Dublin we sailed to Cobh, Ireland, a beautiful little town near Cork. I had 2 runs of 7km and 9km on the road towards Cork. Very nice scenery, nice weather. Then on to the Isle of Man, U.K., where I found the Steam Heritage Trail from Douglas to Peel. It's a really great trail for jogging, no cars, just a few hikers and joggers. Although I didn't do the whole trail (I did 14km out and back), it goes for about 17km through very nice countryside (photo). The start of the trail is about 2kms out of town, but once you're there, it's great.

MARBELLA, SPAIN TO BORDEAUX, FRANCE
Leaving Alicante, Spain, we sailed down to Puerto Banus, near Marbella, Spain. There I had 2 great 10km runs along the promenade from the port in the direction of Marbella. Really a great promenade, wonderful for an early morning run, great weather. Then on to Cadiz, Spain and another 2 great 10km runs from the port around the old town on the waterfront promenade. Great scenery, great weather, nice town. No running in Portugal due to a bug, but then in Bordeaux, France, 3 nice 12km runs mostly along the riverfront (photo), which is great for running with a nice promenade. Once you leave the riverfront, you are in traffic, but there are cycle paths to be found in places. Wonderful town.

SINGAPORE
Although Singapore is not a good place to jog, I managed to find a nice run from the cruise terminal at Harbourfront up to Mt. Faber and back. If you go up and over and then up Henderson Rd., you can get 10km out of it and you do the hill twice! It's only about 100m elevation according to my Garmin, but a nice run nonetheless.

TIOMAN ISLAND, MALAYSIA
Great 2 days here in Tioman Island. Great out and back 8km uphill across from Tioman Island Resort on the road across to the other side of the island. The road climbs up to 450metres before going down the other side. Stopped at the top and hurtled back down-gradient must be about 20%. Paid for it the next few days with stiff legs-great fun, though. Nice resort!

I seem to be getting only about 600kms out of a pair, will see how these work out. Next stop was Rottnest Island. Great 10km towards West End, great scenery, quiet road. Then on to Geraldton and a great 15km today north along the Northwestern Coastal Highway.
